Antired will successfully eliminate red slime algae in marine aquaria. Antired is safe for invertebrates, is not harmful to nitrifying bacteria and promotes the growth of higher algae. The protein skimmer must be left in operation but any carbon use should be discontinued during the treatment. Dead and dying algae should be removed mechanically. Red slime algae is often caused by phosphates or insufficient protein skimming.
